WHY DOES THE COUNTRYSIDE LIONS CLUB EXIST?

The Countryside, Illinois Lions Club is one of the clubs in District 1-A, the birthplace of  Lionism.  We exist to help others less fortunate then ourselves. Any individual or source with a worthwhile request of financial aid that is brought to our attention will be considered. The first objective is to  help those within our community and then the State and
international communities in need of assistance. For example: we supply eye exams, glasses and hearing aids to needy children and  senior citizens. We have paid medical expenses for persons in need of surgery, made donations to the Boy and Girl Scouts and other worthwhile community groups. For 20 years we have sponsored a local Halloween
Party for the children of Countryside to give them a safe and fun night. Our club purchased the first medical response vehicle for the Pleasantdale Fire Protection District.

LIONS OF ILLINOIS FOUNDATION

The Lions of Illinois Foundation is our 501c3 charity which provides the following programs:  Diabetic Eye Screening, Eyeglasses and Hearing Aid collections, Camp Lions for children and adults, Hearing screening bus, Low Vision screening, and Clinic Infant Hearing screenings.

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION

LCIF is the charitable arm of the organization which serves the broader State and International community than would otherwise be possible on a local level. LCIF has approved more than US$200 million in grants which includes for SightFirst, humanitarian services, disaster relief and vocational assistance. HOW are the funds COLLECTED? Through planned fund rising projects such as our most well known, Candy Day for the Blind and others which include Spaghetti dinners, Sight & Sound Sweepstakes, Lucky "50" raffles and dinners and dances of various types.
